Small Mammal Ecology in a Fragmented Landscape
The small mammals that occur in Missouri’s prairies reflect a combination of factors, including climate, habitat preference, and chance. This presentation will discuss prominent prairie small mammals, their impact on their habitats, and what their presence may signal.
The webinar, to be held via Zoom, will be 45 minutes including a question and answer session. The webinar will be recorded, and sent to all registrants as well as posted to our YouTube channel.
Dr. Sean Maher is an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at Missouri State University and is interested in the community ecology and distribution of mammals and their parasites. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Villanova University, a Master’s degree in Natural Resources at the University of Michigan, and a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Kansas. He completed postdocs at the University of Georgia and the University of California, Berkeley before moving to Springfield in 2014.
